The CI Beach Barn is a 12,000 sqft Seaside Modern-Industrial Custom home built on the shores of the Long Island Sound in Westport, CT. The new home features three main wings each with its own unique exterior finish and styling. The architecture is based on that of an old industrial factory and includes two working smoke stacks, bronze exterior windows and doors, exposed steel trusses and an elevated catwalk. Each wing is treated as a separate building each with different siding and roofing systems. The garage wing is clad with board-form concrete and an aluminum metal panel roof. The main structure is a wrapped with a black brick and rhinezinc standing seam roof. The master wing is sided in shou sugi ban vertical wood siding and wood cedar roofing. The #CIBeachbarn project includes: an open air steel and concrete pool pavilion, in-ground pool, expansive 5,000sq.ft. back stone terrace with an outdoor kitchen and commercial cooking appliances. The entire rear elevation of the home overlooks the Long Island Sound and has phenomenal 270degree water views. The interior of the home has 7 bedrooms, 7 full baths, 3 half baths, full commercial gym, custom sauna and tranquil spa room, hidden movie theatre that is accessed through a speakeasy door, wine silo clad in steel panels with rivets and porthole windows that houses 1,000 bottles that are hung a custom steel racking system, commercial grade kitchen with a Josper grill and huge commercial hood system. The rear of the house has four automatic 16’ x 10’ bronze awning windows with exposed gearing and chains to reinforce the industrial style of the home. These windows open completely to provide a true indoor/outdoor flow.
